Coffee Additive Even though the coffee enema appeared at least as early as 1917, it seems as though it has gained notoriety, mostly as a new-age remedy for weight loss, depression and other ailments because of its use by Hollywood Stars. The coffee enema is a long-standing, proven medical protocol in the United States. Coffee enemas were a feature of the orthodox medical literature for the best part of the twentieth century. Nursing manuals routinely recommended the coffee enema. The prestigious "Merck Manual" has been the world's most widely used general medical text. It's Editorial board and its main editors are all physicians. The "Merck Manual", widely used by doctors for over 100 years advocated coffee enemas, not for a particular illness but for general health. In 1977 it was dropped out of the Merck Manual just for lack of space. Contemporary literature featured articles in the "Journal of the American Medical Association", New England Journal of Medicine, and many others have either advocated the use of coffee in colonics or have reported scientific studies being done on using coffee enemas or colonics to treat specific illness and diseases. In 1981 Dr. Lee Wattenberg and his colleagues were able to show that substances found in coffee (palmitates) promote the activity of a key enzyme system that detoxifies the bloodstream. This enzyme group is responsible for neutralizing free radicals, harmful chemicals now commonly implicated in the initiation of cancer. Two other chemicals found in coffee, theophylline & theobromine dilate blood vessels and counter inflammation of the gut. Dr. Max Gerson believes that it is the liver and small bowel that neutralize the most common tissue toxins that damage a normal metabolism. Our body's detoxification systems are probably enhanced by the coffee colonic. Dr. Gerson during clinical studies for tuberculosis and cancer, noted some remarkable effects of this procedure. For instance, patients could dispense with all pain-killers once on the enemas. It is said that there is no "high" or other caffeine type effects from the coffee when using it in a colonic, however I have had many clients tell me that they do feel the caffeine affects . During a Coffee colonic Caffeine will travel up the hemorrhoidal to the portal vein and then to the liver itself. This causes the liver and also the gall bladder to relax and spill bile and toxins into the intestines to be flushed out of the body. All the blood in the body passes through the liver every three minutes. So you can see how keeping the liver as healthy as possible is important to detoxify the blood. During the 1920s and 30s coffee enemas were prescribed for a variety of conditions and studies from the earlier part of the century indicate that they stimulate gallbladder emptying and more efficient liver function. There are many current studies and practices that are proving that coffee colonics are beneficial in treating tuberculosis, cancer, inflammation of the gut, eczema, gout, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, psoriasis, Rheumatoid arthritis, drug abuse, AIDS, some liver ailments, constipation, and to help overall general health. Many middle age and elderly clients that have been doing weekly colonics for years with coffee and Wheat Grass swear that it keeps them young, healthy and thin. If you do coffee colonics every week or two, over a period of six months or more you might want to take a break for a couple of weeks. If you tend to be constipated you could substitute Lemon Juice colonics for a couple of weeks before going back to the coffee. Excessive use of coffee enemas might lower the body's stores of iron and some other vitamins and minerals causing anemia. Taking a short break will ensure that this does not happen. Colonic - strong, Organic French Roast is best. Orally = you do not receive same benefits taken orally |
